Whether you call it God, the Universe, Fate, or something else altogether, the world we live in is always working to maintain balance. Without sadness, happiness would not be as precious. Without death, we would never truly appreciate life. The human experience is often rooted in beginnings and endings, darkness and light, happiness and sorrow. I consider it a solemn duty to tell those stories as well. While a photograph of a funeral may be sad in the moment, remembering the beauty of a loved one's ceremony often carries us to memories of better days. In a way, its these trying times that are truly the moments that define us.
