About Me
I embarked on an incredible journey in 2010 when I joined the Navy as a Mass Communication Specialist. Little did I know that this decision would open doors to a thrilling career filled with unforgettable experiences. From capturing the majestic beauty of the sea aboard two aircraft carriers to telling the unique stories of brave souls serving their country, I found my life's passion in photography and storytelling. Serving as a photographer for the U.S. Navy's flagship publication, All Hands Magazine, allowed me to share the Navy's stories with the world. But it was when I was selected to document the life of the 24th Secretary of Defense, Chuck Hagel, that my journey truly soared. From grand halls to distant lands, I captured moments of leadership and courage that will forever be etched in history. My lens led me to witness the most critical events in the department's history, from the rise of the Islamic State to battles on the home front against sexual assault and discrimination within the ranks. I was blessed with the opportunity to travel around the globe and tell the story of our nation's leaders through pictures. In every photograph, I sought to portray the heart of each story, and that drive is what pushes me to tell the stories of life's momentous occasions. Whether it is two souls joining in matrimony, the birth of a child, or even the death of a loved one, I believe any moment that stirs that evokes emotions within us deserves to be preserved for eternity. Photography allows us to create a tangible record of intangible feelings, and in a day and age where we can carry millions of photos with us in our pocket all the time, a photograph must be of the highest quality to stand out. I want to make photographs that are worth coming back to again and again. Through my lens, I have learned that there is a profound beauty in candid emotions, stolen glances, and heartfelt laughter. My mission as a photographer is to freeze those fleeting moments in time, so they may be cherished for generations to come. The moments I have been able to capture in my photographs have changed my life, and I am eternally grateful for the path my life took that led me to photography. From far-off adventures to intimate celebrations, my camera remains a faithful companion, allowing me to share the stories that make life truly extraordinary.
